QUEEN OF THE HOUSE

What a lucky guy I am...no...really...I am!...the luckiest guy in the world!...and let’s put aside the fact of my recent arrival from the hospital and my new physical disabilities because I actually got the chance to meet the queen!  At my own house even!  This is no joke!  And not only did she grace me with her royal presence, but she also treated me with some dignity, gentleness, kindness, care and respect!  All at once!  And most Importantly, she gave me a surprise gift so beautiful, so rare and so vital that a person has never given me before in my whole life....she gave me the unique gift of hope!!  Hope to continue living...Hope to continue fighting...Hope of my self-importance...Hope to look forward for tomorrow...and most of all...Hope...to ever walk again.  And she supported all this without asking for any favors in return, so one day I was feeling sorry for myself as usual because I was becoming frustrated with the incapabilities of my broken body and I finally asked her, “Why do you keep doing this for me...huh...why me?”  She raised up her hand and showed me a wedding ring on her finger and said, “Because I love you...I thought you knew that already?”

This strange-odd feeling placed a warm blanket over my heart and I started to get a little teary eye as my head exploded with different levels of emotion.  “Wow!”  I thought to myself, “True Love really does exits!”   She dipped a small wash cloth in a plastic basin filled with soap and water and gently started scrubbing my upper back because, at the time, I didn’t quite had the full functions of my arms and legs than suddenly I began to realized the extent of sacrifice this true queen was committing for herself to actually take the time to feed me, bathe me, clothe me and keep me warm, but most of all, she was constantly by my side to prevent me from feeling useless, empty, lonely and despaired from overwhelming my inner thoughts, yet, there were other commitments she had to fulfilled, which was our household because the family responsibilities of a dedicated queen are a life-long obligation and never ending. Who is this person you dare call a queen you ask...well..I’m sure you’ve already figured that out by now...she is my lovely wife, Olivia...my beloved queen.

You see... when you get involved in a serious tragedy, for instance in my case a car accident, and you find yourself unable to properly attend to yourself, you start to wonder..Who’s going to take care of me?  How am I going to get around?  How am I going to support my family?  And suddenly you start to feel the weight of the whole wide world on your shoulders no matter how many visitors come to see you and tell you that everything is going to be alright...How did I know that for sure?  Thank the Good Lord that I married the right woman because she automatically took the reins and became the person in charge of my life not only as my wife, but as a laborer of everyday household duties like controlling the family finances and bank account, paying the bills, full-time babysitting, cleaning, washing, cooking for a family of five then to deal with any last-minute family crisis that comes along or any unwanted personal mishaps and then have to attend to me!  Let me tell you my brothers and sisters...a woman of many hats was a clear under statement in our house!

Then I thought of the past people in my life (with the exception of my family) that would of done what Olivia has done for me and the answer kept coming back as none...zero...nothing!  Yet my wife of 15 years stood by me every inch of the way feeling the same pain and suffering that I felt, the bad news and disappointments that I faced and the challenges and rough times that I endured...and yet we did it...together!  Believe it or not she would even spend nights at my bedside in the hospital just to keep me company.  “It just doesn’t feel the same when you’re not home.” She would say.

So as you can see, I consider myself to be very lucky man ...fortunate enough to have someone there waiting for me to help me, care for me, watch over me and not least...keep me company.  She has completely drawn out the meaning behind the phrase “for better, for worse” of our wedding vows and have surely tested its durability.  This Christmas is also her Birthday where I wish I had the richness of the world to completely embrace her in diamonds, but unfortunately, I’m just a pauper, who could only express his appreciation and gratitude in writing because...honey...talk is soon forgotten, but words on paper last forever!  Olivia...Yo Te Amo (I love you)...Te Agradezco (I appreciate you)...Te Adore ( I adore you)  Y Gracias (And thank-you) for everything you have done as a Grandmother...as a Mother...and as a Wife...for you truly are My Entrusted Queen.  “Happy Birthday..Baby!”  And Merry Christmas to all who read this!

NEW TREND: DIGITIAL SCAMMING

As if it wasn't enough with all these scams going on, for instance, the fake IRS scams, facebook scams or the fake bill collector scams now we have to deal with Digital scamming!  Really!  There are too many assholes with too much time on their hands with nothing better to do than to steal money from innocent Americans, who work hard to earn their much deserving money and now we have one more damm thing to worry about...but ok...here it goes:

Scammers are now using the latest technology to set-up fake retailers websites that look like genuine online retail stores.  They may use sophisticated designs and layouts, possibly stolen logos and even  falsified domain names.  These scammers may pose as genuine sellers and post fake ads for anything such as rental properties, used cars, boats, bikes and even horses.  They then advertise these items at a price much lower than the competition on the same website.  This is known as classified scams.
These scammers may also pose as genuine buyers and send you a notice (cheque) indicating that they paid more than the required payment for that item and want to be paid a refund for the difference. This is known as overpayment scams.

Here are a few things to look out for:
>Beware of bogus links and URL shorteners that may re-direct elsewhere.  Check the URL's by using     URLvoid. com for authenticity.
>Look for any discrepancies, poor grammar, misspellings, stored photos, low quality and poor resolution photos.
>Look at the address bar.  Does the link start with "https" instead of "http".  The "s" means the website is valid Secure Socket Layer installed (SSL), which is a method to ensure that the data sent and received is encrypted and the transaction is not intercepted.
>Look for the quality and contrast of the seal.
>Look for the company's representation if it seems sloppy or unprofessional.
>Most of all if it sounds too good to be true than most likely it isn't.

Here are a few things to avoid:
*Using the same password.
*Automatically filling in credit card details and home address when shopping online.
*Clicking right away on an offer found on social media.
*Agreeing to Terms And Conditions you never read. (5 years ago more than 7,500 online shoppers unknowingly "sold their souls" to Game Station, which was included in the Immortal Soul Clause that gave the company the right to claim your soul.)
*Connecting to free wi-fi from coffee shops.
*Buying anything on websites that do not provide complete information about that company.
*Giving any personal information then required to complete the transaction.  (ask yourself "Do they really need that information?" For instance, Date of Birth or Social Security number for delivering.)

Other things to consider:
<Shop online from well-known trusted websites and brands.  Go for online shops that are at least 6 months old.  (Personal information may be used to open new credit or loans.)
<Do some research and ask someone, who has more experience with the service of that company and search in social channels and forums.
<Make sure you are on a secured channel before submitting a payment.
   a) look for a closed padlock icon on the left side of the web address or the make sure the highlights on the address is green to confirm that the website is encrypted and the connection is secured.
   b) It is encourage to use a different e-mail address only for online shopping to avoid future spams, phishing, scams messages to your main e-mail address.
<When buying online, pay with a credit card instead a debit card because of its built-in protection programs, which shields from any kind of fraud, theft, un-authorized transactions, over-charging, ordering items that never arrived or payments for services that are never performed.
<Use a separate credit card for online shopping and only put money in that account when ordering.
<Put a security freeze on your credit report (for a small fee) to prevent from opening new accounts.
<Ask your bank to activate all security measures.
a)Enable to stop transactions for approval.
b)Turn on SIMS notifications for all transactions.
   c)Periodically monitor your bank account.
d)Periodically change your bank password and immediately change it if hacked.
<If asked by the shop to store your credit information for future purchases, decline not to.
<Use a VPN (virtual private number) if possible.
If you have any doubts about a website, use your gut feeling or look up the website on Scamadvise.com for red flags.

FAREWELL.... MR. WALTERS!

Burl Walters Jr-A true blessing of the Good Lord, whose gift of teaching students of Reedley High-school the wonderful art of music for decades.  He was my music teacher in the 7th grade when he taught at Citrus Jr-high school in the small town of Orange Cove, which was occupied with a combination of low-income to middle income families.  The presence of low-income musicians (some who that didn't even speak English) didn't stop Mr. Walters from dedicating numerous of hours of his teaching skills to his fellow students no matter how difficult it was for him to teach.  His hard-work finally paid off and he landed a job at the Reedley High-school as the Head Music Instructor where he worked for several decades and excelled the Reedley Marching Band into a very impressive Award-Winning musical group.  God Bless You...Mr. Walters now you can show the Angels up in Heaven your God given talent!

THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND...THIS LAND IS MY LAND!

A WORD ABOUT SQUATTERS!
I was having a couple of brewskies with my good pal, John Cano, and we came to the topic of squatting rights...I know what you're thinking...we should of been talking about football instead, but crazy me, I got hooked when John told me about a story of a water well on his father's land that was being solely used by his neighbor.  John's father also wanted to use the well since it was on his land and his other water well was getting dried up where dirt and tiny rocks were coming out of his shower and kitchen faucet, but he rudely discovered that he was not permitted to use the well even though it was on his property.  John's father took this matter to court and eventually lost the case because according to the California law-books, his neighbor had squatter's rights, which allowed him full access of the well, whereas, John's father did not.  I couldn't believe my ears, so I decided to do some research into this matter since I too was a owner of some rental property myself.  This is what I learned:

Squatter's Rights also known as Adverse Possession is title to land acquired as a result of the lapse of the Statute of Limitations for Ejectment, which has the commencement of a lawsuit by the owner to recover possession of the land.  Since the owner has, by his or her own fault, neglect or failed to protect the land against hostile actions of Adverse Possession, who has treated the land as his or  her own property for a significant period of time, is recognized as his or her property.

Requirements:
The following elements must be met for Adverse Possession-1) Actual occupation of the land with the intent to keep the land for oneself, which includes planting, harvesting crops, cutting or selling timber are actual possessions. 2) Non-permissive use of property. 3) Open and Notorious to the public 4) Continuous use of property 5) Exclusive Adverse Possession-claimant has had exclusive possession of the land meaning sole physical occupancy, any physical improvement of the land for example, construction of fences or houses are evidence of exclusive possession.

California Squatter's Rights-taking over vacant homes without the owner's permission and if they lived there long enough and owner does nothing about it, the squatter could end up owning the property.  The squatter must make continuous payments of property taxes for approximately 5 years.
(Some jurisdiction may hesitate to immediately chase squatters off a property if they have a seemingly authentic property claim).

Gaining tenant's rights-any written, oral or implied rental contract, which also includes watching over or making repairs to property.

Local-landlord tenant laws could govern any eviction process, which is a lengthy process in some cases some landlords have given squatters cash payment to move out.

"No Fault" eviction-include capital improvements, demolition, owner move-in or substantial rehabilitation.  Tenant can request relocation payments from landlord at approximately $320 a day.
A Ellis Act eviction-is a no fault eviction and owner must either move in or take the property off the rental market.

The following are "Just Cause" for eviction:
1) Non-payment of rent or habitual late payment.
2) Breach or violation of rental agreement.
3) Nuisance or damage of unit.
4) Illegal use of the unit.
5) Termination of rental agreement and tenant has refused to execute an extension.
6)The tenant has (after written notice to cease) refused for the landlord access to the unit as required by law.
7) Unapproved sub-tenant.
8) Move-in of landlord or relative.  Relocation payments of tenant may be required.
9) Demolition or removal of unit/relocation payments.
10) Capital improvements or rehabilitation-relocation payments.

Eviction Process:
1st Eviction-landlord give eviction notice, 3-60 days (30 days if tenant has less than 1 year) generally 3-day notice for fault eviction otherwise 60 days.
2nd Eviction-If tenant does move after first notice then landlord serves 2nd notice through court.,
Tenant challenges eviction through the court system. Landlord issues a "Summons + Complaint for Unlawful Detainer".  Tenant must respond in 5 days or has given up rights.  Tenant must file an "Answer" in 4-6 weeks and demand a court trial.

Court rules either in favor of landlord and tenant.
If landlord wins, sheriff posts final eviction notice and evicts tenants at the end of notice period.
Eviction without the court system can only be conducted for a sole lodger living with the owner.

3rd Notice-Sheriff receives a court order and posts a "Notice to Vacate" on your door.  After expiration of notice the sheriff will remove you.

California Code Section 709.3-A landlord cannot put out your belongings or turn off the utilities and is liable for any damages as well as $100 a day in penalties.

So I guess this confirms John's story of his father's water well and now has me concern of my own property...but that's another story!

CHICANO POWER-Rise of the Mexicanos!

We had a general mandatory meeting at the Dinuba public library with all the city employees to discuss the city’s yearly new policies, goals and accomplishments conducted by the community’s top leadership personnel. Usually toward the end of the meeting, each department head took turns at the podium to make specific announcements. “I’m happy to inform everyone that we have nominated Cruz Balderas as Police Officer Of 1992.” I was caught completely by surprise especially after spending a rough rookie season, where I was placed on extended probation. Everybody from the other departments gave me a courtesy applause, but as I returned to my seat I overheard some of the White patrol Officers making stereotyped remarks like “Como!”...Que!...Como!” who I had previously depended on to watch my back while working the streets, but after that fiasco....I wasn’t quite sure anymore. It was bad enough that I had broken a few barriers as the most fluent Spanish speaking cop on the force, which was kind of ironic because I was always considered by my folks to be mas pocho que la chigada!  True fact, I was actually recruited by one of the Police patrol Sergeants, the late Bobby Hall, when I was still employed with the Tulare County Sheriff’s department as a jail deputy where I also fell prey to some racial prejudice, for instance, when someone violated my privacy and invaded my employee mailbox and drew a line across “Latino Association”on my member application and wrote the words “wetback,” but instead of becoming offended, I just took it as a fluke and shrugged it off as a cruel “white” joke.

It wasn’t until my rookie year with Dinuba PD that I realized it was the 1960’s all over again...with the on-going fist to cuffs confrontations in the booking room against the Spanish-speaking inmates due to the effortless mis-communication gap between the white cops and the Mexican detainees because the officer felt that he was resisting when the inmate refused to put on a pair of shoes that didn’t even belong to him!  Then there was the issue of holding all the Police calls from the Spanish- speaking citizens until I logged on, which not only doubled my workload, but I also responded to a very upset and irritated city resident. Similar incidents also happened with several disgruntled employees from the other city departments without the city giving any optional consideration toward bilingual payI So I bitched and moaned about the overload and city hall finally decided to...now get this...give Spanish lessons to these non-Spanish speaking officers and I was automatically volunteered as one of their part-time tutors.

Needless to say, the project went South quick-like, in fact, there was one incident where I was handing out study guides to these unlikely students and they strongly demonstrated their lack of motivation by throwing the study guides down toward my feet! Oh, I returned the favor alright by not responding to their calls whenever they needed a Spanish-translator, but all of sudden, I found myself attending a mandated English class at a local adult-school because I had made a single spelling error on one of my Police reports due to this barrio kid not having the Police jargon quite pat down just yet, and I also had to report to the Fire Department before my shift began to have my blood pressure check or else I couldn’t go to work that day...I mean..com’on it was 1991 for Christ’s sake! Thank God for Pete Benavides and the MAPA organization parading the streets of our beloved city against racial discrimination because the PD’s attitude quickly changed from the “Como...Que” philosophy to “Hey Cruzer...whats up Bro?” and the city administrators finally agreed to a 3% bilingual pay incentive toward our monthly salary, but at the same time the rebellious non-Spanish speaking officers miraculously recovered and started to speak “El Espanol muy good!”...hmmm...what money can do to you...go figure! There were other minor mishaps that I had to hurdled, but eventually everything worked out for me.

Chicano derived from a recent term utilized by the Mexican descendants as a reflection of their unique culture, but are born in Mexico though the term “Chicano” was first mentioned in the 1930’s in California when the poor Mexican immigrants were imported to the U.S to provide cheap labor where one of the despondent workers was a native “Nahuatl” tribe from the state of Morelos, Mexico, who described himself as a Mexicano, but because of his heavy dialect, he pronounced the word “Meshicanos”, which later became of a insulting nature because he was actually ridiculed for speaking in his own native tongue.  Several years later, the term “Chicano” was appropriated by the Mexican-American activists, who took part in the 1960’s Brown Power movement in the U.S Southwest and is now use nationally widespread.

It’s been reported that our ancestors or Mexicanos traced back as far as 1200 BC to a ancient society known as the “Olmecs,”  which runs farther then the breaking ground of Americas’ “Plymouth Rock” pilgrims of 1621.  Chicanos was most likely developed here in the states, but no matter how you look at it our ultimate background comes from the antique country of Mexico where its tribal ancestors reach as far back as 23,000 years ago and led the pathway for the Mayans, the Teotihuacans, the Toltecs and the “Aztecs” or “Mexicas” (A indigenous people from the northern valley of Mexico since the 12th century, who at the time of the Spanish conquest led by Hernando Cortes in the early 16th century, were a small nomadic tribe that dominated Northern Mexico and lived on the margins of civilized Meso-America).  They were all fearless warriors and skillful builders, who formed a highly specialized and stratified society carefully adjusted to the land and remained the most extensively documented of all civilization of the 16th century leaving invaluable records of all aspects of life linked to modern archaeological inquiries and studies of ethnologists, linguists and modern historians.  Although the conquering Spanish armies were able to defeat the fierce Aztec warriors, the Spaniards avoided battling against the best of the Aztec warriors because most of them were succumbed to smallpox, which was brought by the Spanish army, because the Aztecs had no immune system to fight off the new disease and it killed millions.

Eventually, a protracted struggle resulted in the creation of the New Mexican empire led by a Catholic priest name Miguel Hidalgo Costillawho touched off the revolution against Spain and best remembered in Mexican history as the Father of Mexico’s Independence.  He was later captured by the Spaniards and executed, but was succeeded by Father Jose Morelos, whose participating forces were able to defeat the intruding French forces fighting off the undefeated army of the Great Napoleon the 3rd, which also became the birth of Mexico’s Cinco De Mayo celebration.  In 1821, the Treaty Of Cordoba was signed, which established Mexico’s Independence from Spain and in 1846 The Treaty Of Guadalupe was signed putting an end to the Mexican-American war where Mexico sold its Northern territory to the U.S for $15 million dollars and finally under the leaderships of Pancho Villa, Alvaro Obregon and Emiliano Zapata did the bloody Mexican Revolutionary war of 1910 place a end to the political system of the Spanish conquest and its large-landed estates

After the Spanish invasion of the 1600’s, Mexico became part of the Spanish empire for the next three centuries until the early 1800’s where the Mexican people were generally divided by 4 groups, which was associated with purity of the Spanish bloodline starting with the first-class Spaniards, who were born in the country of Spain, the Creoles-who have a Spanish backgroundbut born in Mexico and the under-class Mestizos, who were of Spanish ancestry with traces of Mexican indian blood and eventually made into slaves and forced to labor in the mining caves.

The U.S based its dollar on the Mexican peso

IT's no wonder we are such a proud people!  Look at our history background and do your own research and you will discover the remarkable authenticity behind our ancient tradition, which shows how our roots, in one form or another, have originated from the beloved country of Mexico may it come from a first or third generated bloodline and yet here we are currently getting Trump-line in a territory (California) that was once occupied by our great ancestors

In 1941, the United States initiated the Braceros program, which is s Spanish term for manual laborer, and recruited workers from Mexico to work in the agricultural industry where they faced harsh working conditions in the orange fields, grape vineyards, tomatoes fields and the lists continues on, but along with the intensive heat from the blazing sun in the summer or the chilling gusting winds of the cold winter months, these hard-working desperadoes also faced every day discrimination by white employers, low wages, broken labor contracts, no transportation back to Mexico ``whenever they finished with the season and very poor living conditions when they were promised basic human rights, adequate shelter and good sanitation as part of the contract. This scenario seemed very disturbing to the high officials of Mexico especially since these Braceros were doing a invaluable service for the United States and the Americans would have nothing to do with working in the agriculture fields.  My Father-in-Law, Benjamin Franco Corrales, was one of these daring men.  A very modest man of a few words, who worked hard in the fields to support his family, and even though he rarely speaks of the mis-treatments he had faced as a Bracero, his weathered-aging face and calloused hands show evidence of the sub-standard living conditions he endured where he even had to pay 10% of his weekly paycheck, which was a mandatory deduction, to pay for his return trip to Mexico, which never happened.  This program finally ended in 1964.  Lawsuits in the 1990’s and 2000’s were initiated by the ex-Braceros to get their money back and they were only reimbursed approximately $3,500 a piece.  A estimated $500 million dollars are still owed to the Braceros today as they continue to fight for their hard earned money that they had so sacrificed.

Where We At Today: 2016
The Chicanos, Mexican-Americans, Mexicanos have migrated into this country (that was once ours) once again and have settled in practically every state from the East coast to the West coast, the North end to the South end and everything in-between, but this time we are here to stay...baby!  We definitely need to win federal political power as we slowly have at the state level, for example, Texas, New Mexico and parts of California.  The White House just begun to accept our people in high powerful positions, but there is still a few vacant seats that need our racial support that would directly benefit us and the future of our children, but we need to group together as one and pick out the right candidate, who is fair, honest with good integrity, have the same beliefs and goals to represent us and lead our people in a forward motion to obtain the same political influence in this country as other majorities where our decisions to make the laws, statutes and propositions are heard and followed. We need to make our presence known at the House because as of yet we have only filled the following positions:

U.S President-None
Secretary Of Education-Lauro Cavazos,1998-1990
Vice President-None
Secretary Of State-None
Secretary Of Treasury-None
Secretary Of Defense-None
Secretary Of Homeland Security-None
Secretary Of Health And Human Services-None
Secretary Of Agriculture-None
Secretary Of Veterans Affairs-None

U.S Attorney General-Alberto Gonzalez (1st Latino)-2005-2007
Secretary Of Interior-Manual Lujan Jr, 1989-1993,
                                  Ken Salazar,       2009-2013
Secretary Of Commerce-Carlos M. Gutierrez, 2005-2009
Secretary Of Labor-Hilda Solis, 2009-2013
                                Thomas Perez, current
Secretary Of Housing And Urban Development
Henry Cisneros, 1993-1997

Mel Martinez,    2001-2003

Julian Castro,    current

Secretary Of Transportation-Federico Pena(1st Latino)-1993-1997

Secretary Of Energy-Fedrico Pena (same person)-1997-1998

As you can see it wasn’t until the early nineties when Latinos came into these top Cabinet positions totaling 5 seats with a Republican President and 8 positions with a Democratic President.  Only 1 female Latino!

What Needs To Be Done:
We need to promote a concrete political influence of our elite heritage and recruit Hispanic candidate(s), who are fair, honest and aggressive with good integrity and strong intentions that will paint a consistent positive impact in the Mexican-American (Chicano) community nationwide inducing the racial ring of prejudice and stereotyping, which of course will never completely go away, but we need to tighten the lid so that its negative effect will not interfere with the opportunistic passage of Mexican-American professionalism, both politically and in the other realms of skilled-learned occupations (Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Judges..etc) that will help continue to curb this great nation of ours to the highest point and maintain its powerful economic dynasty not only to the benefit of our race and culture, but for the good and not-to-distant future of our Latino children. The meaning behind the word Raza not only includes the Chicanos or Mexican Americans of our nation, but also towards our original bloodline, the Mexicanos of our neighboring country of Mexico as well.  Our Mexican Great Ancestors (Abuelitos) are our true fore-fathers not George Washington or Benjamin Franklin!

Together we can be United...and get Noticed!  Together we can Build...only by taking Action!  Together we can Succeed...and our Raza will always be Remembered...Forever!  Buenas Salud Mis Hermanos!

ANOTHER SCAM-part II

According to the AARP organization, Fifty-six people have been charged with impersonating Internal Revenue authorities and coercing thousands of victims into paying approximately $300 million dollars over the telephone either by a wire transfer or with a prepaid debit card.  Someone claiming to be an Internal Revenue agent tells the victim that they have a outstanding bill with the IRS and will be fined or sued if they don't pay immediately.  At least 15,000 people were victimized, federal officials said.  The indictment listed five call centers in the U.S. and India as sources of the scam including several places in Mumbai, India which were raided by the Police.
Here's what people should know to protect themselves.
*  The IRS routinely sends all notices of payment due by mail.
*  The agency does not initiate phone calls demanding immediate payment by credit card or wire.
*  If you are called and are concerned that you might actually owe money, hang up and contact the IRS directly at 800-829-1040.

FINDING AMELIA

The other day, I was watching the Raider game with my brother-in-law, Abe Martinez, (really good guy) and he told me about a program he watched the night before regarding Amelia Earhart, a famous female pilot, who had supposedly crashed into the Atlantic Ocean during the 1930's and was never found, but according to Abe, the program indicated that she was actually captured by the Japanese army after she had crashed and was executed and buried on a island, which was witnessed by a female islander.  I told him that I thought his story sounded a bit odd since I had not heard anything like that before especially something that would break the infamous myth about Amelia's disappearance, so I informed him that I would do some quick research to confirm that story and this is what I found out:

Amelia Mary Earhart born July 24, 1897-July 2, 1937 (date of her disappearance) an American aviation pioneer was the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic ocean and had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross by the U.S. Congress and in 1937 made an attempt to fly around the world with her co-pilot, Fred Noonan, in a Lockheed Model 10 Electra plane, but apparently they mysteriously disappeared by the Howland Islands, which is approximately 1,700 nautical miles southwest of Honolulu, which became the most widely accepted explanation proclaimed in national television and in most school history books.

There have been other theories in regards toward the demise of Earhart and Noonan:  The first one was the "Crash and Sink" theory, which supported the original story that Amelia's plane, the Electra, ran out of fuel and crashed into the Atlantic ocean at 10am on July 2, 1937 by the Howland Islands, where several searches were conducted, but were unable to locate any proof of their remains, thus, causing there deaths  to be one of the many greatest mysteries of the 19th century.  The second theory, "The Gardner" theory assumed that Amelia collided near the Gardner islands, which is 350 nautical miles from the islands of Howland, but several searches also ended up with negative results.  Following was the "Japanese Capture" theory which was mentioned in a autobiography written in 1966 by CBS correspondent, Fred Goerner, where Earhart and Noonan were shot down by the Japanese Army over the islands of Saipan and survived the crash, but were eventually captured by the Japanese and subsequently executed.  Earhart's airplane, the Electra, was then scraped into pieces and thrown into the ocean.  In 1993, pilot Henri Keyser-Andre published his autobiography and mentioned while he was in Japan reviving their aviation industry, he had heard rumors of the Japanese Capture theory by several Japanese people.  In 1990, on Unsolved Mysteries, a Saipanese  woman claimed that she had witnessed Earhart and Noonan executed by the Japanese and overheard rumors that they were buried in a grave on the island of Tinian, which is next to Saipan, but in 2004, a scientifically-supported archaeological team dug at the site and failed to turn up any bones.  There were other theories like Amelia acting as a spy for President Franklin D. Roosevelt and that she was one of the propagandists of the "Tokyo Rose" dilemma during World War II then on 2006, a program on the National Geographic Channel indicated that Amelia survived the crash, returned to the states and moved to New Jersey where she changed her name to Irene Craigmile Bolam, a banker in New York during the 1940's.  Craigmile denied the claim and filed a $1.5 million dollar lawsuit for damages.  A professional criminal forensic expert later studied the photographs of both women and cited many measurable facial differences between both of the women.

Well...there you go Abe!  So I guess as it turns out we will never find out what really happened to Amelia and her airplane not unless we can get some more evidence, for instance, find her remains or any traces of her plane, but unfortunately all we have are assumptions and in today's world assumptions are not enough and Emilia's death will still remain as one of the greatest mysteries of the 19th century.  Next question please!

CHANGE OF TIMES IN THE BOXING REALM Cont.

Tonight at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales (Europe) will be a lightweight championship fight between undefeated Irish champion Terry Flanagan and Puerto Rican top contender, Orlando Cruz, who will move from the featherweight rank to the lightweight division after his defeat from featherweight Mexican champion, Orlando Salinas in 2013.  What is so significant about this bout is that if Orlando Cruz wins the fight it will be the first time in the history of world boxing that a openly-admitted Gay boxer will receive a championship boxing title (not that there's anything wrong about that) but..folks... times are changing since the era of old champs like Joe (The Brown Bomber) Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammed Ali isn't it!  But I guess this is acceptable as long as Orlando don't make any derogatory comments after he's hit in the face like "Stop it!" or "Aye vente pa ya!"
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/38085099

Cont: No gay parade today!  Orlando Cruz lost his bout last night on the 8th round to undefeated champion Terry Flanagan in the lightweight division causing the Tweeter channel don't go all ape-shit!  I guess our society is not yet ready to crown the queen of boxing instead of a king!

HONORABLE MENTION-Celia Espinosa

                                                          Celia on her graduation night

This segment is dedicated to those, who had made a positive impact or change not only to them selves, but to their loved ones and the surrounded community as well.  Celia rebounded from a hard mixture of drug abuse, family despair and homelessness, but then with the help of the good Lord, she was able to find herself once again on the difficult path of righteousness and put her life back together.  The following story you are about to read is a true account of Celia's testimony.

I was 13 years old when I started using Marijuana.  Over the next 16 years, my drugs escalated to heavier drugs.  At the end of my last run, I realized I had lost everything.  I was bouncing around from house to house.  During the final 8 months of my 18 years of drug addiction and because of my lifestyle, I was forced to give up custody of my 5 children to their father.  Shortly after that, I ended up in jail; a place I didn't want to be, with charges I never wanted to have.  When released, my drug use started all over again, as if it had never stopped.  My kid's father refused to let me see my kids.  My eldest son, Shaunie, ran away from home and found me and never left my side.  Because of that, I exposed him to a way of life he never should have seen.

One day I broke down.  I needed my children.  I couldn't do enough drugs to numb the pain I was feeling.  I finally reached a point in my life where I was done.  I reached out to God for help.  I had hit rock-bottom and didn't know where else to turn, so I prayed for a door to be opened.  I called my sister and I asked her to find a program for me.  Shortly after hanging up with her, she called me back and told me that she had found one.

About a week later, I entered the Rescue The Children center on May 27, 2015 with four of my five children.  Shaunie stayed with his father.  Upon entering, I didn't know what to expect, but I already knew that God was at work in my life.  I'm not going to lie.  Being in a program, filed with woman, I knew challenges were bound to come up.  I was worried about how I was going to react when they did.  So from day one, my Bible became my best friend.  Every spare moment I had was in God's word.  So every morning, I would recite the versus before starting my day.  I wasn't going to rely on what I thought I knew or what I felt or even the way things looked.  I was going to rely on God, and His Word and His Promises.

At the Rescue The Children center, my relationship with God grew into a relationship I never knew I could have.  I was finally where I needed to be.  I not only found myself, I found a person I never knew existed.  During my time in the program, I developed skills that I will use the rest of my life.  A year and a half ago, had you told me I would be where I'm at today, I would have told you, "You bumped your head!"

Right now I have a healthy relationship with my family and I have real friends, who love me for me.  I also have my children.  Thank God that they are happy and healthy.  I am now employed full-time as House Manager for RTC.  I get to share with other women what God has done in my life and what he has brought me out of.  I AM A LIVING TESTIMONY!   "...With God all things are possible"
                                                                                           Mathew 19:26

Awesome story Celia and congratulations on your success.  May it continue for the New Year that follows and have a Happy Thanksgiving to you and everybody else, who reads this story!

WHAT'S HAPPENNING HERE!

Last Saturday on Shaw Avenue and Blackstone there was supposedly 400 protesters against the newly-elected presidency of Donald Trump, which is also happening in other parts of this country where people (mostly Democrats) are getting injured, stabbed and even going to jail.  Why are they doing this?  I mean...I'm just as pissed off as the next guy that Trump won, but who are we really hurting with these riots if not ourselves?  It's not going to change things I assure you!  If the people in this country did not want this to happen then what should of been done was to assemble these same groups, who are currently un-happy, and campaigned out in the streets by knocking on every door and made sure that the other 43% (who didn't voted) to get out and do what is expected from every American citizen....VOTE!  What good is all this ruckus now!  Let's show the rest of the world that we have our act together and behave appropriately and see what actions our new president will set for our great nation to follow.  If he becomes to be a big disappointment then we all should get together in three years and work our butts off to campaign for the next Democratic President of 2020...Hmm shall we say...Michele Obama maybe...think about it!

CAREFUL WHO YOU ROOM WITH!

My nephew, Matt, asked me, "Cruzy, my Criminology teacher told me that my Mom can't kick me out of the house if she ever gets mad at me...is that true?"

I was a little astonished, "We use to do it all the time whenever they called us."

Matt: "Yeah according to him, if they receive mail at that residence then they would need to be serve papers like a regular tenant, in fact, if they get kicked out their constitutional rights would be violated."

I laughed at his remark because I couldn't even count the times that I, during my patrol days, have responded to calls where the owner(s) have asked the Police to remove someone from their residence, who were living there.  Usually, the un-wanted subject would give very little resistance and actually volunteer to leave the premises, but I started to wonder...is he right?

"Shit..I don't care...I'll throw his ass out anyway!" said Matt's Mother, Mari.  (Yes..she's my sister too)

So I decided to do a little research on this topic and I was surprised what I found out.

According to several resources-In the State of California, anyone living at the residence for 30 days or more (with or without a lease agreement), receive mail at that particular address, any exchange of money or a verbal agreement of receiving rent money is considered to be a legal tenant and must be provided with a formal written notification of the legal due process of eviction.  It is best to seek counseling from a Landlord and Tenant Attorney, which would most likely result following the more expensive route and conduct the proper eviction process, so don't go changing the door locks once your roomie leaves the house or else you might run into some constitutional violation issues.

Actions you may want to consider if the following events occur or you want someone to leave your residence:
1.  If you fear for your safety or the safety of the other person(s) living at your residence because of the un-wanted subject, call the Police immediately and obtain a Restraining Order.
2.  If the un-wanted subject(s) commits any acts of domestic violence against the other tenant, may it be a spouse, girlfriend or any other person, call the Police immediately.
3.  If the tenant fails to pay rent (if it was agreed upon) then you must follow the eviction process.
4.  Substantially interferes with the comfortable living standards of the other tenants.  (Eviction process)
5.  Matierailly damage any section of the rental property. (Eviction process)
6.  Used the rental property for any un-lawful purposes.  (Call the Police immediately and commence the Eviction process)
7.  Committed unlawful conduct involving weapons or ammunition.  (Call the Police immediately and commence the Eviction process)
8.  Violated the provisions of the lease or sub-lease.  (Commence Eviction process)
* You might just try to ask the other party to leave, you never know, that person(s) might feel un-wanted and leave voluntarily.  (Just don't go begging for them to come back later or else you're just acting ridiculous!)

BEWARE OF A NATIONWIDE SCAM! It's happening here and now!

John receives a phone call this morning from a female with a stern voice, "Mr. Cano, this is Jayne Miller from DMS systems, we are a private collection agency hired by LeNor's Family Furniture regarding a delinquent account that requires your immediate attention, which includes the remaining balance of $3,987, but for a one-time payment today of $1,500, we will indicate on the balance portion of your bill as paid in full and clarify your credit record."

John:  "How can I pay for this?  Do I have to go to the furniture store?"

Jayne Miller:  "If you have a credit card we can do this over the phone, but first I need to confirm your identity.  Are the last four numbers of your social security 7685?"

John:  "Yes"

Jayne Miller:  "Is your address still 680 Shaw Avenue, Fresno, California, Apartment 206?"

John:  "Yes it is?"

Jayne Miller: "Are you still employed with Fresno Community hospital?"

John:  "Yes..I am?"

Jayne Miller:  "Excellent, if we can complete this transaction in the next thirty minutes, we'll reduce your payment an additional $100 dollars making your total balance $1,400, but you need to act immediately or else your total balance can change to $15,000 in the next three years.  You will then receive a subpoena by mail to appear in civil court and you'll be issue a arrest warrant if you fail to appear."

John: "Let me get my wallet."

This is a actual true story.  The names have been changed to protect the innocent...ok..enough of that bullshit...but this scam is for real and people, like my poor neighbor, are buying into this scam and losing their hard-earn money because they truly believe that they are saving tons of money.  What makes these scams believable is by the amount of knowledge these caller(s) have regarding your delinquent account, social security number, home address and telephone number etc...and this is happening now specifically in our area!

Do not give anybody your credit card number unless: You have conducted business with that person(s) or that company previously, If it's the 1st. time you are making a business transaction make sure it is a reputable company or do a little research or background on that person, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO! And look for the red-flags, for instance, you should of been receiving a few notices in the mail regarding a past-due account before that business paid money for a collection agency to come after you or before sending a subpoena.  And what about this arrest warrant issued in your name for not paying your bills bullshit...c'mon...seriously...what is this North Korea?  If you happen to receive one of these suspicious phone calls then get your local Police off their asses and have them do their job!  Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to notify the city's Chamber Of Commerce about this scheme because they have various ways to alert the public for you never know the next victim could very well be your Abuelitos, who are the biggest source of victims!  https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/debt-collector-real

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN...with a bag of weed in his hand!

Just think of it, instead of going to the store to buy some smokes or a six-pack of Bud it's going to be "I'll have a doobie please!"  California-64 supports legalizing recreational Marijuana for persons age 21 or older and establishes certain sales and cultivation.  A subject can possess up to 28.5 grams of Marijuana and 8 grams of concentrated Marijuana, but smoking on or near school grounds, day-care or youth centers are not permitted.  You can grow up to 6 Marijuana plants on your property, but the area must be secured and out of public's view, so read the new initiated statute carefully!   Individuals, who got busted for this offense will be considered for re-sentencing.

On a positive note-This state law can put money into California's pocket.  Can you imagine all the dope that was burned up in the past by Law Enforcement...man oh man!

P.S-My wife was sitting at our breakfast table dreading over the passing of this bill, but there were Mothers just like her in the 1930's grieving over the successful closing of the Prohibition period where alcoholic beverages (beer) was legalized.

HOLD ON AMERICA!

I was afraid of this.  I was hoping it wasn't going to happen so soon, but it was predicted in the Holy Bible about the false prophet...is Trump the one?  Well... now we'll see if that wall gets built and keeps his promises he's been telling the American people...I  surely will be keeping count! www.huffingtonpost.com/news/donald-trump/

THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS!

I guess we'll find out who's running the country soon...either the madman or the female hypocrite, but at least she knows the in's and out's of the Whitehouse domestic and foreign affairs plus very much aware that there are people above you even though you're the U.S President and not thinking that she can run the political market like the other idiot, who's running in this election.  Just think of it not whether Hillary is going to do any further harm to this nation's economy...hell..its already all screwed up, but at least our generation will get to see history in the makings not only with the very first Afro-American to become President, but now the very first female and the very first married couple to be U.S President, so don't forget to cast in your votes and watch intensely as history develops!

THE LEGAL CROOKS

The American Banking System vs. Cable TV....who's winning the cheating battle here?  One bright sunny day as I was skipping along, I noticed on my cell-phone that I had a overdraft fee of $35 on my Wells Fargo online-banking web site for a insufficient fund of a lousy 3 bucks!  To top it off, I actually had over $200 in my savings account, where I could of easily transfer the necessary funds to cover my measly purchase of two McDonalds coffee and two kid's parfait for my grand babies, Mia and Lea, but on the night before, I had check my banking statement on-line at approximately 10:00 p.m, which indicated that I had $27.00 left-over in my checking account so I assume it was safe for the night...yeah right!

So I called the banker and told her about my misadventure and indicated why was I charge a overdraft fee since my last online statement on my checking balance was different (in my favor) and now I was in the hole especially since there were no other withdraws or other purchases made on my account.  She told me that there must of been a late transaction that occurred sometime after I had logged off, so I rebuttaled that I thought I had until 5 o'clock to replenish the needed funds into my checking account before a overdraft coverage was necessary, but she gave me a wild goose story (actually bullshit) that I waited to long to make the switch from my savings to my checking account, therefore, explaining why I was charged the overdraft fees.  After a hour of arguing (mostly at my expense) I was finally able to cut the $35 charge to $12.50 for not having enough money in my bank account that I already have.....just doesn't make sense does it.

This happens to thousands of banking customers every single day especially to those who are foreign to the internet banking system or don't speak the financial lingo interpreted by the heavy-accent banker from another country and are not aware of these cloak and dagger proceedings.  Just think of it...that's a lot of money!  And its happening right under our very noses nationwide!  Now let's talk about the good-ole cable TV companies, who think they are the monopoly giants of the television entertainment industry ( we can change all that by the way) by making these exclusive deceiving glamorous bargains of a low-low price of $29.99 a month for cable television on a committed two year contract...BULLSHIT!  Little do these cable companies mention that for a low cost of $29.99, you get almost absolutely nothing, but mediocre cable channels, so for a slight upgrade of $140 more a month!!!! you can get another 120 premium channels where 60 out of the 120 channels are nothing but infomercials...what a rip off!  Well at least I know where to buy a nice diamond ring or buy some cheap swamp land from Eric Estrada!

We need to stop these legal crooks from stealing from the American people.  I know what you are saying right now..."Isn't Wells Fargo in enough hot water?"  Yeah... like if the authorities are really going to do something besides a slap on the wrists and fining them millions of dollars!  Ugh..Sorry..I was choking on my own saliva.  What we all need to do is group up, find a attorney with steel balls and initiate a multi-class lawsuit and kick-start a stringent federal investigation to block this nation-wide scam from continuing.  We (the people) are the ultimate giants in this country, who the U.S Constitution stands behind not the powerful politicians, who manipulates it!    We are the ones, who really make the laws...support them....and properly follow them...and never forget that!  There are U.S Presidents that were kicked out office because of us...top-class leaders, who have committed fraud, put in jail because of us...rich and famous celebrities taken down because of us...not by the court's system, they just enforced our laws..not make them!  And we initiate this by voting, so let's not drop the ball and exercise what is valuable to us...what is justified....what is right...what is ours.  That's the true American Way!  www.huffingtonpost.com/news/wells-fargo/

WHO REALLY RUNS THE HOUSE?

I keep hearing from people that they are in complete panic if Donald Trump wins the Presidency, but what many don't know is that our fearless leader (may it be a man or woman...personally  I prefer Hillary) do have their limitations, which can make it difficult for Trumpy to build that wall he's been promising America, which would probably require us Mexicans to build it in the first place...yeah right.. like that's going to happen!

According to Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution, which was enacted in 1789, a U.S President has several major roles, for instance, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Head of State and Government, the Execution and Enforcement of the laws (which are created by Congress) and as Chief Executive where he can direct any executive agency he desires, but he must operate within the confines of the law with the mindset that Congress have the power to remove or impeach him, remember Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton?

Even though he is the main director of several vital departments like Foreign Policy, he does lack power in the Legislation Department (domestic and legal affairs), for example, when the Supreme Court rebuked President Obama's selection on the National Labor Relation Board in June 2014 and the filibuster nonsense created by the Republicans during his nominee of the Supreme Court Judge Garland during the replacement of Judge Scalia and though the President can use his veto power to stop certain policies, laws or other legislative transactions issued by Congress, a override can occur if both Houses (Senators and State Representatives) agree on 2/3 of their votes to cancel or block his veto, therefore, much of the President's action do require the full support of Congress.  The people, who have the real power in the Whitehouse and over the President are those who funded his campaign (besides his wallet) and those he employs and those who frequently visits him and make claims on his or her's political promises.

HOME....JAMES!

I would like to introduce you to the remarkable Autonomous vehicle also known as the self-driving car, the drive-less vehicle and the robotic car, which is capable of sensing its environment and navigate the roads without any human input.  This short of a man-made miracle can also detect its surroundings by using a variety of techniques, for instance, radar, GPS, odometry and computer vision with the tendency to identify appropriate roadways as well as obstacles and relevant road signs with its advanced control interpret sensory information system, which also includes a sensory data analyzer to distinguish between different vehicles on the roadway plus planned paths to your desired destination.

Actually, the first self-sufficient vehicle appeared in the 1980's and since then major companies and research organizations have been working and developing prototypes until this year where these steer-less metal horses are now being considered to go on the open market if they haven't been already.

Among the benefits of owning one of these babies are the significant reduction in death-related accidents, less traffic congestion, enhance mobility for the elderly and people with disabilities, relieve weary road travelers, navigational road solving, less fuel consumption, lower insurance costs, produce less air pollution, but along with the bennies are some of the drawbacks, for example, there have been some dispute regarding liability, the time needed to turn in an existing stock of vehicles from their non-autonomous vehicles to autonomous vehicles, resistance from individuals to forfeit control of their own cars, customer concern regarding safety issues of drive-less vehicles, implementation of the legal framework and establishment of government regulations, risk of loss of privacy and security concerns such as hackers and terrorists, and possible loss of driving-related jobs.

Yes...human technology has come a long way since Henry Ford invented the Model-T, but honey...we have arrived!  Although this amazing contraption came to no surprise to me since our airliners like the huge 747 can fly the clear blue skies while our daring pilots took a short nap, but one question remains after all the kinks are finally worked out and humanity finally master the concept behind computerized self-sufficient driving vehicles is...who is going to apply for their driver's license since we'll be the ones riding shotgun?  Hmm...sounds pretty interesting doesn't it?

A GOOD REASON

After many years of wine, women and song, I fell deeply in love for the very first time, but she ultimately broke my heart and I remembered looking up in the sky with tears in my eyes asking “Why Lord..why?....but God never answered.  As the years moved forward, I began using heavy drugs, so heavy that I put a gun to my head, but before pulling the trigger, I looked up in the sky with tears in my eyes mumbling “Why Lord...why should I live?....but God never answered.  As the years moved forward, I became a lawman and met some of the most sickest and darkest bastards ever created in this God's green earth and as I carried a 6-year old girl in my arms, who was hurt and been repeatedly raped by her father, I looked up in the sky with tears in my eyes crying “Why Lord..why should she live?....but God never answered.  As the years moved forward, I became ill and as the nurse inserted a needle in my arm, I looked around and saw other people with the same medical condition, if not worse, and as they turned on the machine and reclined me in my chair, I looked out the window toward the sky with tears in my eyes pleading “Why Lord..why should they live?....but God never answered. That same afternoon, the bus brought me home and as they lowered me in my wheelchair, I heard someone from the doorsteps of my apartment say “See Mia..I told you it was Da-Da!”  A 2-year old came running and jumped on my lap giving me a tight hug, so tight that it gave me such a warm feeling inside that spread throughout my entire body. I laughed out loud and looked up in the sky with tears of joy in my eyes...then suddenly, I heard a slight voice come inside my head...so slight that it whispered....”that’s why.”

Never Give Up!

THE PERFECT GAME

Now dig this Baseball fans...computerized umpires!!!  That's right...Move over terminator here comes Pitchf/x-a saber metric camera device that triangulates the trajectory of a baseball that follows from the pitcher's mound to home plate and quickly broadcasted by a human monitor upstairs to the home plate umpire, who is wearing a ear piece.  Professional baseball is seriously considering using the Pitchf/x device, which has already been used in the minor leagues because the umpires have been giving some bad calls...1 out of 8 according  to baseball statistics, which is approximately 30,000 bad calls a year making the umpire to be right 88% of the time.  But there is a slight flaw that this video tracking device has, which was reported back in July 2015, and it is unknown if it has been corrected since, and its that the three cameras stops tracking the ball a ft. from home plate.   Well with that said, I personally feel that they are taking the fun out of the game, after all, to err is human...isn't it?  Why are only the baseball players permitted to make mistakes?  What are these computerized umpires going to do to the integrity of the game if we allow modern technology steal the role of America's long-time tradition along with hotdogs and apple pies. qz.com/.../balls-and-strikes-were-called-by-a-computer-not-an-umpire-at...

HONEYBEES ON STRIKE

Economic Development is define as the development of economic wealth of countries or regions for the well being of their inhabitants, which consists of cross-country job opportunities, major and minor capital investments, government employment and workforce training programs at the federal, state and local levels.  There are more than 20,000 professional economic developers in our growing nation of this specialized industry, who employ thousands that contribute to the “life sustaining” necessities such as food, shelter and health care, but the most important of all economic developers are a group that vary in shapes and sizes, unique, well-organized, motivated, dedicated and loyal.  They work mostly in colonies with as much as 80,000 employees per each colony with a highly structured order and serve under one queen.  Above all else they work for absolutely free.  They are the honeybees...yes...you heard right...the honeybees, who provide us among many items with honey, royal jelly, beeswax, propolis, bee venom therapy, but most notably they are the prime pollinators of this planet, whose products are most beneficial to humans, which have been known to speed the healing process of fresh wounds, reduce scarring, retard the aging process, treat vascular disease, impotence, sexual disorders, ulcers, liver ailments and nervous instability.  In a Biblical sense, it is said that honey was the last food that Jesus Christ ate on Earth.

Since many of our pollinators are now scarce, we are totally dependent on our honeybees to pollinate and synchronized the development of our crops, and without their help there would be one-third less crops in the world, which would be an estimated $10 billions of work if the farmers are unable to adjust as would be the case of a sudden disease.  With such an outbreak, not only would dependent crops and pasture suffer for example, apples, nuts, avocados, soybeans, asparagus, broccoli and cucumbers, but so will a variety of fruits like citrus fruits, kiwi, blueberries, cantaloupe, melons and strawberries.  Not only do one-third less crops affect the crops, but the economy as well with decreased employment in packing sheds, the trucking business, food processing plants, manufacturing and other related industries where a decline of agriculture output of some 1.6 billion dollars will directly affect approximately 9,500 jobs and in addition on the direct affect on the industries relying on the agriculture inputs, flow-on effects could result an additional $2 billion loss in industry output and 11,000 jobs following the loss of all honeybee pollination services.  Imports of many products will be limited due to quarantine, restrictions and prices will be driven up to the detriment of the consumer, where the costs of pollination services will fall roughly on the consumers and the producers of the honeybee dependent crops.  This is where the honeybee and economic development are tied in.  It’s amazing to know that such a small puny insect could cause such a disastrous impact to our world’s economy.  Well guess what?  It is happening at this very moment.

According to scientist, honeybees have been around for eight-thousand years, but suddenly...they are disappearing!

A mysterious illness is devastating the honeybee population, where beekeepers are finding once healthy colonies abandoned just a few days later or in most cases the only bees left in the colony are the queen bee and a few young bees.  The absence of dead bees make it difficult to know what ails them and experts cannot track the spread of this illness.  The problem began in November, 2006, where U.S. beekeepers began seeing one-quarter loss of their colonies, which was about five times the normal winter losses.  Scientist are trying to figure out what’s killing the honeybee, where several early studies have pointed out to harmful pesticides, increased solar radiation from our thin atmosphere to some kind of a disease or possible parasite called “Colony Collapse Disorder.”
This disease has spread over to 27 states since 2007 with similar collapse disorders reported in Brazil, Canada, Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain and other parts of Europe.  Researchers say colony collapse disorder might be a re-emergence of a similar mysterious illness that struck U.S honeybees in the 1960’s, but scientist never pinpointed that previous bee crisis.  The bee sickness is also hitting our valley.  On February 2007, David Bradshaw, owner of Bradshaw Honey Farms in Visalia, Calif. got the shock of his life when he opened up his bee boxes and found nearly 100-million bees missing.  Our local growers are becoming openly nervous about the capability of the commercial bee industry to meet the growing demand for bees to pollinate dozens of crops along with the recent stresses on the bees themselves, as well as on an industry increasingly under consolidation, and some fear this disorder may force a breaking point for even larger beekeepers.  Pressure is building where the beekeepers are losing against the suburban sprawl where bees can forage for nectar to stay healthy and strong during the pollination season, but currently there are less beekeepers, less bees, yet more crops to pollinate and the costs to maintain these bee hives are rising along with the strain on the bees being bred to pollinate rather than to just make honey.  While this sounds good to the bee business so much added losses and expenses due to disease are making higher equipment costs and profitability is actually falling.  Farmers are paying the price by paying more than $10,000 a year to rent bees, that’s if there is enough bees to go around.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
Symptoms of CCD are normally evident between the late summer and early spring when the colonies have been hit as older bees pop their clogs leaving behind the queen and young workers not yet ready to forage for pollen.  There is very little or no build up of dead bees in or around the colonies.  Presence of capped brood are in the colonies and bees will not normally abandon a hive until the capped brood have all hatched.  Other signs of CCD are food presence of honey and bee pollen, work force seems to be made up of young adult bees, and the queen is uncharacteristically evident outside the hive.  When a colony is dying and there are healthy colonies nearby (as is typical in a bee yard) those healthy colonies often enter the dying colony and rob its provisions for their own use.  If the dying colony’s provision were contaminated than a domino effect will take place resulting that the healthy colony will observe the same contagious disease.

WHAT IS BEING DONE:
At a House Agriculture Subcommittee in Washington DC, members of various organizations have come together to share their concerns about Colony Collapse Disorder.  They are the Committee on Senate and Trends of Pollinators of the United States National Research Council, The Sierra Club Genetic Engineering Committee and the Mid-Atlantic Apiculture Research and Extension Consortium.  More scientist are beginning to investigate various avenues of CCD along with the beekeepers, governmental officials and the USDA to conduct an investigation into the possible causes.

WHAT TO DO:
* Do not combine collapsing colonies with the healthy ones.  It is possible that combining a sick colony with a healthy one will contaminate or infect the healthy colony.  If you find abandoned hive equipment and the cause of the bee death is suspicious, store the equipment in a manner that prohibits other bees from accessing it.  Feed the bees Fumagillin in sugar water during the springtime and the fall to prevent the bees from attracting Nosema Ceranae, which is a bee stressor and possible causing agent of CCD.  Use an integrated pest management approach by minimizing the need for chemical use in bee colonies, lessening bee exposure to potentially toxic chemicals.

Human technological innovation has not, in most cases, replaced or even improved upon animal pollinators and is unlikely to do so in the immediate future.  “The birds and the bees” concept remain an essential fact of life as long as plants depend on pollinators, so will people and it behooves us to shepard them wisely.  A chilling prediction about the importance of bees to humans popular in the press recently is “If the bees disappear from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.  No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals...no more man.”   www.huffingtonpost.com/news/bee-decline/

A COUNTRY IN CHAOS

We the people, are the first three words of the U.S Constitution created on September 17, 1787 to establish our nation’s government and fundamental laws and guarantee security, freedom and estate of our natural rights, but yet, our liberated country has been involved in numerous acts of war and destruction since the signing of our founding fathers.  From the American Revolution of 1765, Mexican-American war of 1846, World War II and Pearl Harbor 1940’s, the Korean war 1950’s, the Vietnam war in the 1960’s, Grenada invasion 1960’s, Persian Gulf and Bosnia war 1990’s, Afghanistan and Iraq war in the 2000’s to the present war with ISIS in Libya 2016, and that still does not include our nation’s past violent turmoils with the prohibition and rising of organized crime in the 1920’s, Renegade bank robbers and German espionage 1930’s, the Civil Rights Movement 1950’s, The Watts Riot and Vietnam protestors 1960-1970’s, Crack Cocaine crime wave 1980’s, the Kent University shooting 1990’s to the birth of terrorism and elementary school shootings in the 2000’s, and now the racial tension with the Police! Maybe the “We The People” clause in our constitution should change to ‘Who Else Should We Hate”.  It would not surprise me at all if God threw up his hands in disgust and say “I give up” and set our world on self-destruct.  What “We The People” need to do is settle down, roll up our sleeves and have a intellectual sit down with respect to the other person’s race, cultural background, religion preference and personal opinions and come up with a solution before our freedom converts into martial law like some third world country.  May it be that the Police need more additional training on the weapon of choice in regards to the escalation of force or a better understanding and communication with minority groups or perhaps the opposition should enhance their cooperation with the law of the land because the administration of justice is a world of complexity and accessible to the path of careless due diligence, but something has to be done!  And do not say is not possible because look what we been through and yet we were able to defeat the enemy and maintain a safe haven for our children.  I always been taught, in a biblical sense, that heaven is high in the sky and hell is deep down below, but now I’m starting to think that perhaps heaven might be in the skies like everyone says, but I’m so afraid by the look of things that the evil forces of hell has found a new home.  aclu-or.org/blog/summer-racial-tension-and-spotlight-police-use-force

TRIBUTE TO A FALLEN COMRADE: David Del Bosque

To my brother...David, who passed away on Thursday 09-22-16.  David and I used to hang together quite a bit during our wild times along with his older brother, Daniel, who was one of the most strongest and hardest punchers in town of Orange Cove.  (He once boxed ex-Golden-Glove and former Orange-Cove Mayor Victor Lopez and cracked one of his ribs, which put him in the hospital.)  To not be too explicit about our "crazy times" together, David and I use to follow Daniel around and met some of the most evil and scariest sons-of-bitches on this planet, which even forced me to pack a handgun.  I knew David since the 6th grade and for years he use to call me "Cruzer Mendez", and up to this day I never had a clue why!  Its been several years since I last saw David (Daniel passed away about 5 years ago) and I heard that he died in his sleep...he was 57 years old.  Im sorry carnal that we did not stay in touch, but I guess our separate lives never made this happen.....I'll be missing you..Bro!
